Syntax Summary

After the DOCTYPE declaration, comes the html-element.

The html-element serves as the root of the HTML document. What this means is that all of the code between the opening and closing html-element tags must be descended from the html-element. Basically, all of your code goes in-between the html-element.

How We Do...

Inserting an HTML element is simple enough, as it will be the first thing after the DOCTYPE, and the last thing in the entire document. It should look something like this.

<!DOCTYPE html>

Again, everything in between the opening and closing tags are the HTML code that the browser will need to produce your website.
